For Heaven’s Stake – Grass-fed Meat and Cow Pooling

I have an exciting offer for you today, we have teamed up Caroline and Stephen who run an innovative new business offering called ‘For Heaven’s Stake’- a very different way of buying some very special meat, it’s both organic and 100% grass fed.

You have probably heard that grass fed meat has a superior nutrient profile and is both higher in omega-3 and has a better omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, both critical factors in reducing inflammation in the body and improving health. But did you know there is a huge difference between ‘grass fed meat’ and ‘100% grass fed meat’ and an ever increasing number of meat companies who are using this marketing jargon loophole.

Ethical Meat Broker Caroline explains – ‘meat in the UK is often reared on grass for the early part of its life and is then ‘finished’ on cereals, this is where the problems start. In just 90 days of grain feeding, beef animals will lose all the positive benefits of the previous pasture diet, the omega-3 reduces dramatically.’

‘A large portion of the UK’s farm animals are being fed cereal that includes soya from South America of which the majority is GM.’

Ask your supplier if the grass fed meat you are buying is 100% pasture reared, you may get the answer; ‘sometimes the animals are fed some natural cereals’ or ‘our animals may get a bit of grain toward the very end of their life’. If this is your answer, beware, the meat they sell will probably have a nutrient profile similar to any other ‘standard’ meat.

Currently the best certification of REAL grass/pasture feeding is ‘pasture for life’ I have found most other so called ‘grass fed meat’ claims to be green wash!

For Heaven’s Stake, work with a passionate bunch of small scale but amazing farmers who are farming in harmony with the environment, showing the highest regard for their animals welfare and are producing meat that is nothing short of exceptional in terms of its nutrient density and quality. All the meat is ‘pasture for life’ approved and carries a QR code that tracks it back to the farm and animal.

Caroline and Stephen sell the animals on behalf of the farmers by using a ‘cow pooling’ or co-operative, social approach.

Their job is to ‘join the dots’ making all the arrangements such as: finding a local high welfare abattoir, organising the hanging, butchery, packing and delivering it chilled in eco boxes by courier to your door.

Their customer service is excellent and very personal, you can ring Caroline on 07732 757043 anytime to ask anything.

We are offering the chance to buy into a cow, sheep or even deer at certain times of year and you will find this meat – which would normally be very pricey and hard to find- turns out to be very good value when buying in bulk.

Please have a look at the clever ‘crowd funding’ web site, you can see a full profile of the Farms and farmers principles, it also gives details of what would come in your box of meat if you bought a ‘stake’ of an animal.
